Midhat is a cheerful girl, she dreams of becoming a scientist when she grows up. On being asked what she would like to make, she quickly responds saying `I will make a TV for my family, since we only get to watch it at our neighbor’s house’. This is the sheer innocence of a 6 year old girl who suffers from a Congenital Heart Defect since birth.
Midhat was born in a small village of Kashmir called Kupwara. Her father Javed, 36 years old works as an electrician and earns 4000 rupees per month. The family learnt about Midhat’s heart condition when she was 6 months old. She used to keep coughing and her chest was swollen. After a series of checkups Midhat was advised to undergo a surgery.
Since the family could not afford her treatment, they tried to ask relatives and friends for help.
The family learnt about a kid from the same vicinity who was suffering from a similar problem had been treated by the support of Fortis Foundation and RMMMRT.
The parents immediately reached out to the Foundation for help.
Midhat had a successful surgery on 14th March 2018. Dr. Vijay Agarwal and his team treated Midhat successfully.
