Kapil is a 21 year old boy who was born and brought up in Sultanpur (Uttar Pradesh). Kapil shifted from Sultanpur to Delhi 4 years ago in order to lead a living. He works at a store in Lajpat Nagar and earns a monthly income of Rs.8000/-.
According to the patient he had a history of trauma to the face at the age of 2, following which he has been unable to open his mouth. Due to this condition, Kapil had a speech problem which made it difficult for him to communicate with people. He could barely open his mouth and therefore even eating became a problem for him. At the age of 1 Kapil went to a Government hospital in his village to get his surgery done. Unfortunately he later learnt that the procedure was not done correctly and instead caused more swelling. In January 2016 while working at his shop Kapil met Dr. Gagans wife, who suggested him to get his treatment from Fortis Medical Research Institute ( FMRI). He got his first correction surgery in March 2016, after which he started eating and speaking. In December 2016, he underwent a successful Mandibular Osteotomy with the support of the Fortis Foundation.
