Imad Javed is a 5-year-old boy from Bandipora district in Jammu & Kashmir. He is a playful child with a very sweet smile. His father, Javed Ahmed Bhat is a daily wage labourer and has a monthly income of Rs.3000. However, he does not get regular work. Imad’s mother, Shaheena Begum, is a housewife. His father is the only earning member in the family and supports 5 dependents including 4 children.

When Imad was two his family found out about his heart condition.  They approached several doctors in Kashmir and were informed that Imad would require an operation to completely heal himself. Their financial situation could not afford the cost of the surgery.

In August 2017, Imad’s father came to know trough local people that a free health camp was being organized at GB Pant hospital.  Rotary, Delhi with doctors from Fortis Escorts Heart Institute in Delhi were jointly organizing a health camp where patients would be examined and if required, be treated free of cost. Imad along with his father visited the health camp where the doctors recommended a surgery.

In December 2017, he came to Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram and consulted Dr. Vijay Aggarwal, Pediatric Cardiologist and CTVS surgeon. He was further diagnosed with Ventricular Septal Defect.

Imad had a successful VSD Closure surgery on 14th December 2017. His father was extremely happy and thankful for the support.
