Bhavika was born in ALwar, Rajasthan. Her father Manish, was the only earning member in the family working as a helper in a packer and mover company. However recently he had to left the job and is unemployed. Bhavika’s mother, Sonia, is a housewife. Manish has to take care of 3 dependents including his elderly parents.
After being discharged from hospital after birth, Bhavika regularly turned blue. Her parents took her to a nearby doctor who suspected something was wrong and advised the family to get 2D echo. As they couldn’t afford the test they visited RML and after a 2D echo it was confirmed that she has a hole in her heart. Since her parents could not afford the cost of a surgery, she was kept on medication at RML. The doctors at RML recommended that they visit the Fortis Foundation Charitable dispensary at Durgiana temple in Amritsar. The doctors at the dispensary referred her case to Fortis Foundation’s Umeed- Dhadkan Program which supports the surgeries of children with congenital Heart Defect.
Bhavika was successfully treated on 27th November 2017. RMMMRT and Fortis Foundation supported her surgery.
