Aisha is a naughty girl who has been pampered by her parents, uncle and aunt at home.
Her father Md. Ilyas works as a laborer and earns 4000 rupees per month.
Ilyas says `My daughter was born with complications that make her extremely susceptible to illnesses. Ever since she came into this world, we have been visiting the hospital every 15 days. Since November 2017, we’ve been taking rounds of different hospitals in search of a solution that would save her life. Aisha was born with a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot. The doctors said that she would need a surgery soon. Hearing the cost of the surgery made my world collapse. The treatment was going to cost us a staggering amount of 4 lacs rupees. No matter how I try, I do not have the capability to raise such a big amount. The treatment won't start without the funds that are needed to save her life.’
After knocking several doors in hope of financial aid, Ilyas visited a health camp which was conducted by doctors from Germany. This camp was organized by Rotary Club of Delhi Midwest.
Seeing how critical her case was, Aisha’s was referred to Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram.
The surgery was supported by Radha Mohan Mehrotra Medical Relief Trust and Fortis Foundation.
Aisha had a successful surgery on 12th March 2018. The surgery was led by Dr. Vijay Agarwal (Chief Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon) and his team.
